• Note bibliographique et bibliographie

According to the Report Card of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), there are two hundred million daily trips across insufficient bridges in the USA (American Society of Civil Engineers 2013).The Federal Highway Administration predicts that $20.5 billion should be invested annually to eliminate the nation’s deficient bridges by 2028, whereas only $12.8 billion is currently being invested (American Society of Civil Engineers 2013)Corrosion of reinforcement in bridge decks is one of the major contributors to bridge deterioration. Bridge decks can be exposed to severe environments and subjected to a number of freezing-thawing cycles (Seliem et al. 2008). The deterioration mechanism of reinforcing steel corrosion within bridge decks is known (Hassan, Abdelrahman, Tadros 2000).
